Commission explores bringing Seattle nonprofit’s small-business training to Sunnyside

Members agreed to first attend or preview the class to assess curriculum and time commitment; one member estimated the program would run about two weeks.
Discussion covered likely course topics — lending, licensing, insurance and marketing — and outreach strategies to ensure attendance. Commissioners suggested inviting their list of past loan recipients and applicants as the initial audience and said the commission would decide marketing channels once the nonprofit confirmed the curriculum and schedule.
The chair said she would follow up with the nonprofit to secure dates and return details of the program to the commission.
