ARB approves height deviation for LA Medical wall sign at State Road 7 clinic

Jonathan Sandoval of the planning division told the board the tenant is eligible for a minor primary facade wall sign and that the proposed sign area (48 square feet) and length (10 feet) meet code, but the applicant requests an 87-inch sign height, which exceeds the 30-inch maximum and creates a 57-inch technical deviation. Sandoval said staff found the deviation would not create off-site impacts, that the increased height improves visibility along State Road 7, and recommended approval with conditions including permit approval and final ARB-stamped dimensions.
Ben Dolan, representing the tenant, said the larger sign was driven by the scale of the facade and coordination with staff. Board members clarified the deviation applied only to height, not the number or total area of signs. A motion to approve the petition based on staff recommendations was seconded and approved with aye votes recorded in the transcript. Conditions include adherence to the exhibits and completion of permitting steps before installation.
