The presenter (Speaker 8) thanked councilmember Maguire for assistance, described a weekend of partner booths, hikes organized with Maricopa County and the park system, and said the Hopi Tribe and Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation were providing cultural participation; a Hopi chairperson will do a blessing at the event. The presentation noted a local artist, Paul Dieffendorfer, fabricated a three‑layer rusted‑steel topographic display that will be unveiled as part of a dedication.
Staff said the event aims to highlight the long campaign to establish the conservation area and to showcase partners and educational booths. "The conservation area is opening up for free entry into the park," the presenter said, encouraging attendance.
