Kiwanis partners with city to launch Carson Park playground fundraiser

Robin Prasker of the Community Services Department said the project grew from a community visioning process and will be funded through donations and Kiwanis fundraising. Kiwanis members described successful volunteer builds in other parks and said they have negotiated special pricing with vendor Landscape Structures.
Planned equipment includes a 2–5 and a 5–12 play tower, a spinner and a teeter-totter; staff said Kiwanis has set up an online donation platform and will be available at Get Out and Play Day to collect contributions and answer questions. Council members praised the volunteer-build approach and the inclusion of a fenced dog run and play areas.
