Committee hears introductions of four gubernatorial appointments to Gambling Commission and Lottery

Alicia Levy, previously a member and chair of the Washington State Gambling Commission, introduced herself remotely and described experience with sports-betting rules and efforts to ensure safe, honest gambling in Washington. Michael Charles, who has served on the Gambling Commission since November 2024, said his background includes public policy and community engagement and described a personal interest in problem-gambling issues.
Noah Skartvett, a firefighter and union political-action director from Seattle, described a career in public service and said he looks forward to learning about the gambling industry to help keep the public safe. Brian Bennett, recently appointed to the Washington State Lottery, discussed his government and technology experience and prior service on transition teams.
Each nominee was administered the committee's oath and offered brief remarks; the committee recorded their introductions and did not take confirmation votes during the session.
