Town staff told the Select Board that they have met with Waspin Audio (South Deerfield) on AV proposals for the new town hall meeting room and auditorium and are seeking a second proposal for security cameras under the state ITC 71 contract. Staff said they have had difficulty obtaining multiple responses but expected additional proposals and noted the importance of integration with regional dispatch.
Separately, staff recommended creating a memorandum of agreement to formalize how facilities requests, maintenance scheduling and operational responsibilities are handled among the Select Board, department heads, and the boards and committees that use town buildings. Staff said a single coordinated approach would reduce ad-hoc repairs and vendor fragmentation and make prioritization clearer for the facilities manager.
On stormwater, staff reported the town is behind a required best‑management‑practice demonstration project tied to the stormwater permit. A design estimate for a demonstration BMP was discussed at about $30,000; staff suggested that the town pursue MVP program funding to cover design and administration if the board wants to proceed. No funding was approved at the meeting; staff said they would return with proposals and cost estimates.
