Hot Springs seeks $25,000 contract with HSACA to administer public‑art program

City staff presented Ordinance O26-05 to authorize a $25,000 contract with the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance (HSACA) to administer the City of Hot Springs public art program.
Public Works Director Ron Seave Wright said HSACA provided professional leadership in 2025, helped expand permanent and temporary public art placements and examined additional funding sources; HSACA board member Mary Zunick is scheduled to present a progress report on Feb. 3 detailing last year’s deliverables and the organization’s 2026 proposal.
Staff clarified that most of the $25,000 is used for salaries and program administration rather than direct art purchases; a separate budget line exists for purchasing art. The ordinance will be before the board for formal action at the Feb. 3 meeting.
