The Green Bay Park & Recreation committee approved multiple equipment purchases using Sourcewell contracts to support park and nursery operations.
The committee approved the purchase of a Rayco 1,800 articulated wheel loader and accessories (Sourcewell contract No. 010923-MBI) for a stated total of $60,363.96. Director (speaker 3) said proceeds from a $100,000 bond issued in 2024 for a new treatment nursery include remaining funding intended for on-site equipment so staff would not need to transport machinery to the nursery.
The committee also approved acquisition of a Groundmaster gang mower (Sourcewell contract No. 112624-TTC) to replace a 13-year-old unit the Director said has hydraulics and parts issues. On the record the Director said the city bonded approximately $172,400 for the 2026 replacement and that the low quote received was within that budget; the agenda text contained a figure that was unclear in the transcript and therefore is not reported here as a definitive price.
Two Bobcat UW53 skid-steer units and attachments from Bobcat Plus (Sourcewell contract No. 020223-CEC), each listed at $91,485.87 in the agenda, were presented as budgeted replacements (the Director said $95,300 was bonded for these replacements) and approved by the committee. The Director said both Bobcat quotes came in below the bonded amounts.
All equipment items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. No individual roll-call vote tallies for committee members were recorded in the transcript.
Next steps: procurement staff will finalize orders under the referenced Sourcewell contracts and take delivery according to departmental purchasing procedures.
