The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors opened its Jan. 27 meeting with a resolution of appreciation for David Radford for his service as chairman in 2025.
The board also recognized deputy Ethan Sweeney and sergeant Alex Wirtz for earning spots on Roanoke’s 40 Under 40 list; Sheriff Eric Orange commented on their service to the office and community. Appointments were approved without discussion, and the board approved reports; no citizens had signed up to speak during the citizen comment period.
Board members used closing remarks to thank Dustin Campbell, county staff, VDOT and Appalachian Power for their work during a recent winter storm. Chair Sheppard noted a successful meeting with school board members about the revenue sharing agreement, and one supervisor congratulated Billy Greenway on his retirement.
The next Board of Supervisors meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. Full meetings are available on Roanoke Valley Television’s YouTube page.
