On Nov. 12 Georgetown County Council voted to approve a proposed expansion of the Georgetown County Business Center and to collaborate with Santee Electric Cooperative and its affiliate, Georgetown County Development Holdings LLC, to develop an additional speculative industrial building on roughly 5.69 acres.
Councilor Carolina moved to approve the plan and to authorize the county administrator, county attorney and staff as necessary to close the transaction and pursue the project; the motion was seconded by Councilor Newton and adopted by voice vote. The motion authorizes county staff to complete the necessary steps to close the transaction and advance construction and development activities.
