Georgetown County presenters onstage summarized the county’s major accomplishments in 2024, highlighting $6,500,000 in federal funding to dredge Georgetown Harbor and what they described as more than $3,300,000 in completed road improvements.
“This year, our focus has been on building a brighter future for every resident,” said Jackie Brooch, a county presenter who introduced the review. Officials said the harbor work is intended to restore full function for recreational and working boats and to preserve the harbor’s economic and cultural role.
