Knox County Beer Board approves Best Brand off-premises beer distributor license

The Knox County Beer Board voted Jan. 26 to approve an off-premises beer distributor license for Best Brand, 10200 Upper Ridge Way in District 3, after hearing testimony from the applicant and confirmations from county staff.
Applicant Seth Eskind, who identified his residence as Nashville, Tennessee, answered questions from senior deputy law director Mike Moyers about the accuracy of the application, ownership and compliance with state and county beer laws. Eskind said he and his employees would not sell to minors; he reported no criminal convictions related to intoxicating liquor or crimes involving moral turpitude. Eskind told the board Best Brand currently operates three Tennessee locations (Nashville, Memphis and Cleveland) and is establishing a warehouse in Knoxville.
County staff reported no objections from Codes, the fire marshal or the sheriff’s office. Board members noted that the Tennessee Department of Agriculture requires paperwork for the change in ownership; Eskind said the license application to the state has been submitted and that he would provide any additional forms the county needs. Eskind spelled his surname for the record as “Eskind.”
District Commissioner Oster moved to approve the application; a second was recorded in the minutes. The board approved the license by unanimous roll-call vote.
The board advised the applicant to coordinate remaining paperwork with the clerk’s office and state agencies. No conditions beyond standard regulatory compliance were recorded.
