Sweetwater planning commission approves Highland Addition replat allowing three lots to combine for single home

The City of Sweetwater Planning and Zoning Commission voted Thursday to approve a replat of the Highland Addition that combines multiple lots in Block 73 into a single Lot 4A to allow construction of a single-family home. The motion was made by Commissioner Ludlam and seconded by Commissioner Bennett; the commission approved the replat by voice vote.
Vester, planning staff, told commissioners the applicant sought to combine Lots 45, 46 and 6 into one lot so a house could be built and said the replat had been reviewed and approved by the city engineer. "Staff recommends that the commission approve the replat," Vester said.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing on the replat, and commissioners proceeded to a vote after closing the public comment portion. The commission's approval sends the replat forward as a routine land-development action; any building permits or other approvals required for construction will follow the city's standard permitting process.
The commission reached the decision during its regular meeting on Jan. 29. The replat action will appear on the file before the city council and in municipal plat records in Nolan County.
