Oak Ridge Board recognizes Teachers, TAs and classified staff of the year
Summary
The board honored multiple educators, naming principals, classroom teachers, novice teachers, teacher assistants and support staff as annual awardees and celebrated program successes across the district.
During the meeting the Oak Ridge Board of Education recognized outstanding educators across the district. Superintendent and administrators introduced honorees and described accomplishments that led to their selection.
Named recipients included Heather Jenkins (Principal of the Year, Linden Elementary), Amanda Tiller (Woodland Elementary Teacher of the Year), Destiny Setkowski (Novice Teacher of the Year, Willowbrook Elementary), Julianne Fowler (Secondary Teacher of the Year, Oak Ridge High School), Heather Bonacore (Teacher Assistant of the Year, Willowbrook Elementary) and a RISE classified staff member identified as Ms. Cecil. Administrators praised the honorees’ instructional leadership, student impact and contributions to school culture.
Board members congratulated the recipients and noted upcoming events, including a home wrestling match billed as the district’s first in decades. The recognition items were ceremonial; no board action was required.
