Casey’s becomes naming-rights partner for Iowa Event Center; venue to be called Casey Center

Casey’s, the Midwest convenience and pizza chain, will be the naming-rights partner for the Iowa Event Center in Des Moines, officials announced at a public ceremony where Polk County leaders and venue managers welcomed the deal.
"To today, we embark on a new chapter welcoming Casey's as a new naming rights partner, what will be known as the Casey Center," said Matt McCoy, chair of the Polk County Board of Supervisors, who credited local partners and county investments for the venue's success. McCoy thanked county staff, management partners and longtime supporters including Wells Fargo and Greg Edwards.
A representative of Casey’s said the company was "proud of our Midwest roots" and described the partnership as a way to deepen local ties. The speaker noted recent company growth, including a large acquisition that expanded Casey’s presence into the Florida Panhandle, and gave company figures: "Now in Iowa, we have over 11,000 team members working across more than 550 stores" and "Across our 2,900 stores in 19 states, we have 49,000 team members." The representative added that Casey’s pizza stands around the building will be "a delicious addition" for eventgoers.
Polk County officials and venue management emphasized the local nature of the partnership. McCoy said the county has continued to invest in the 20-year-old building and was involved in selecting a partner "more than signing a contract for signage." Catch Des Moines and OVG (Oak View Group), which manages the building on Polk County’s behalf, were also thanked for their roles.
The host of the event recognized Ordinaro’s Pizza for 14 years as the venue’s exclusive pizza provider and acknowledged the many contractors and staff who worked since October on signage changes and concourse build-outs to prepare for the new store.
Attendees were invited to enter the venue to view the new Casey’s store on the south concourse and the updated signage. The ceremony closed with thanks from county and venue representatives. No formal county vote or ordinance was announced at the event.
