House hosts FFA Day, NDI performance and recognizes Primary Care Day

Several lawmakers introduced student "shadows" and FFA chapter officers from across the state, noting achievements and college plans. Representative Reed introduced three student visitors from Clovis and Texaco (including Jared McBride, Claire Paula and Riley Fury), highlighting their FFA leadership and contest successes. Representative Mira Balmoya introduced Caden Griffin and multiple Belen and Valencia High School FFA officers and advisers.
Representative Dowell noted National School Choice Week and provided FFA context for members, saying the New Mexico FFA Association serves more than 5,200 members in 93 chapters across the state. Members representing districts with strong agricultural programs recounted family ties to FFA and urged continued investment in career and technical education. One member said students had told legislators they needed roughly $5,000 for materials, urging the body to consider funding and support.
NDI New Mexico performed in the chamber; Representative Zepanski described the group's reach, saying it serves more than 8,500 children in 90 public schools across 29 communities and delivers tens of thousands of instruction hours statewide. The floor also noted teddy bears on desks from the New Mexico Primary Care Clinic; Representative Zepanski said the clinics serve about 330,000 New Mexicans and help a large share of low-income and uninsured residents and asked members to recognize Primary Care Day.
Members closed their remarks with invitations to receptions and local events tied to the day's guests.
