Miss McCarville spoke briefly about the elevator and HVAC procurements, explaining the funding sources and cooperative purchasing rationale for the elevator contract and noting the HVAC project had been delayed due to previously insufficient capital funds. The board moved, seconded and approved both contracts by voice vote.
Earlier in the agenda, the board discussed the sabbatical item in executive session because it involved a personnel matter. After returning from executive session, the board voted on the sabbatical request (the motion was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote). The administration described the sabbatical purpose as to lead study and support to improve student outcomes for multilingual learners.
