Community Services reports uptick in library visits and park use; Patriot's Park among busiest in state

Mr. Flutten told the commission that Columbia County recorded more than 4,000 youth-sport games in 2025 and that library attendance rose 5.2% over the year. He said four Columbia County parks were among the state’s top 100 visited parks and that Patriot's Park ranked fifteenth in Georgia based on the county’s attendance estimates, which are derived from cell-phone data.
“Over 4,000 games played for youth sports,” Flutten said, and he noted the county has the ability to track attendance figures using a cell-phone data program.
Fire and Emergency Services Chief Wallman also offered the department’s 2025 total run report and budget report and said he would be glad to answer questions; none were asked. The meeting record shows no public comments on the staff reports.
