Jennings County officials approved a series of setback variances for new homes at multiple properties after applicants described site constraints and officials confirmed other setbacks would be met.
Clayton Henderson sought permission to place a new home at 9490 West State Highway 250 in Crothersville. The applicant said the house would sit about 95.5 feet from the south property line and required a 17-foot variance from a stated 112.5-foot setback. Officials confirmed other setbacks would be met and approved the request by voice vote.
Brandon Lund requested placement of a manufactured home at 8795 West Private Road; the home was described as sitting about 68 feet from the north property line and needing a 7-foot variance to meet a stated 75-foot requirement. The board approved the variance and advised the applicant to obtain permits.
A request to place a home at 4645 South State Highway 7 (filed for Brandon Mills and presented by Rob Mills and Brandon Booth) would sit about 77 feet from the east property line. The board recorded a need of roughly 35.5 feet to meet a stated 112-foot front setback and approved the variance.
Finally, a request for a home for Michael Mabel, represented by Andrew Mabel (transcript also shows the name as Andrew Rabel), at 735 South County Road (650 West North Run) asked to place the home about 10 feet from the west property line and referenced a 25-foot rear setback; the board approved the variance after reviewing a submitted letter and site constraints.
Each applicant was told to secure building permits. The board recorded approvals by voice vote; no formal change to zoning ordinances was made during the meeting.
