Representatives for Crunch Fitness and the property owner presented an updated site plan and landscape plan for the Huswick Street location. Planning staff received an updated package the morning of the meeting; board members said they had not yet had time to fully review it but noted the submission addressed several staff‑recommended landscape additions.
The owner and contractor (who will act as general contractor for the build‑out) told the board they had priced the requested improvements — pothole and curb repairs, new striping, additional island plantings, lighting and dumpster location updates — and intended to complete much of the work while the tenant undertakes interior fit‑out. The applicant said occupancy would be contingent on completion of exterior improvements and code inspections.
After discussion about drainage, pedestrian safety and site plan specificity, the board approved the site plan with a condition that the applicant complete all staff recommendations to the satisfaction of the city engineer and code enforcement and that no certificate of occupancy be issued until those items were finished. The motion carried unanimously.
