DPW Director Jeff Mori said the project will be a mill-and-fill down to subbase, include ADA ramps at four intersections along Airway Drive, and replace storm-sewer catch basins. "Michigan paving came back, roughly 10% under engineers estimate," Mori said, describing the bid and noting the work is consistent with grant requirements that include ADA ramp installation.
Council moved and approved the PO on a voice vote. Staff said the grant includes requirements that make ADA ramps part of the project and that sidewalks are not currently present but the ADA work would enable potential sidewalk installation later if desired.
The council-approved purchase order authorizes the DPW to proceed with contracting and construction. Staff invited council questions about sidewalks and project scope before the vote; none prevented approval. The motion passed on council voice vote.
