At its April 28 meeting, the City of Allegan City Council approved routine financial items and a quarter‑end budget adjustment.
Accounts payable and payroll: Council approved accounts payable totaling $275,323.25 and payroll of $250,408.97, for a combined total of $525,732.22. A council member moved to approve the payroll and accounts payable, the motion was supported and passed by voice vote.
FY25 third-quarter budget adjustments (Resolution 25.13): Finance staff (Tracy) summarized the third-quarter adjustments as largely carrying forward items previously approved by council or adjusting grant and revenue lines to actuals. Council Member Walker had previously questioned a notable adjustment tied to a dam grant; staff indicated that detail had been shared with council and answered questions. The council moved to adopt Resolution 25.13 and approved the resolution.
Financial reporting and FY26 budget calendar: Staff presented the March 2025 revenue and expenditure report for council information and offered to provide bond and debt schedule details by email on request. Council moved to schedule a public hearing on May 12, 2025, to consider adoption of the FY2026 budget; the motion passed.
Next steps: Staff will provide additional bond and debt schedule information on request and will present the FY2026 budget at the scheduled public hearing on May 12.
