Neosho County approves equipment purchases, authorizes health‑fair expenses and grants limited reimbursement authority

The Neosho County Commission on Sept. 24 approved several operational purchases and authorized funding for employee health screenings.
The board approved purchasing a Kenwood "t r t XRD710" repeater from Uplink Technology in the amount of $2,070.64 to be charged to the sheriff’s commodities budget after confirming the sheriff approved the expenditure. Commissioners also discussed using two county TrailBlazer vehicles as spares; staff will trial‑drive and inspect the vehicles before committing to repairs.
For the county health fair, staff requested and won approval to absorb up to $3,500 for biometric screenings and related tests so employees could participate at no cost; the board also later approved a motion allowing county staff (the clerk’s office representative) to purchase items for the health fair and be reimbursed up to an approved amount on presentation of receipts.
Other small purchases approved during the meeting included 10 window shades for $2,254 (to be charged to maintenance) and roller storage shelving for registered deeds from Bear Graphics for $2,857 (to be paid from a technology fund).
