Sunny McElhaney, facilities operations coordinator for Beaufort County, said, "This position is an hourly position with Beaufort County, and the rate is dependent on the qualifications, but the range for this position is $28.41 to $34.09." She described the role as covering both small and larger electrical projects.
McElhaney said technicians handle routine tasks such as outlet repair and bulb changing as well as more complex jobs, including "generator transfer switches, and running dedicated circuits." She added that staff handle troubleshooting and parts acquisition as part of the job.
On how work is assigned, McElhaney said Beaufort County employees submit a work order through a link "and that goes directly to our PubWorks application," and from there tasks are assigned to technicians.
