Sanitary Engineer staff told commissioners the county established an operations, maintenance and repair fund nearly 10 years ago and that the customer base has roughly tripled since then. Staff said the study will review billing and rates and could determine whether rates remain appropriate or might be lowered because of a larger customer base.
Commissioners approved the motion by voice vote after a brief discussion. Staff indicated the agreement will be paid from the sanitary engineer account; a staff member also said they expected to participate in the meeting’s executive session to discuss related contractual or litigation matters.
