Ogden sustainability committee reports outreach wins, seeks $5,000 FY27 budget

Sali said the committee increased recycling capacity at twilight concerts, prepared an EV‑charging and parking recommendations report that informed the draft zoning code, toured and evaluated the city’s transfer‑station recycling facility, and maintained active subcommittees on EnergyWise Ogden, recycling and EV charging/parking.
The committee asked the administration to include a $5,000 line item in the FY27 budget to support outreach, pilot programs and quantifiable outcomes such as pounds recycled at events. Sali said the group is focused on measurable results and would like council direction on priority areas.
Council members and staff thanked the committee and asked for follow‑up metrics; committee members said they plan to present quantifiable recycling and outreach results next year and requested support in recruiting volunteers and filling open committee slots.
