Pioneer Days foundation reports $779,000 revenue and $4.7 million estimated economic impact

Steve Handy, chair of the Pioneer Days Foundation, presented the foundation’s annual report on Oct. 21, outlining attendance, finances and a first‑time economic impact study produced with Weber State.
Handy reported total revenues of $779,000 and sponsor revenue of $644,000; he said concessions and event sales netted roughly $126,000 to the committee. An economic impact analysis using survey responses and event data estimated a $4,700,000 impact for the most recent festival cycle.
The foundation also credited roughly 500 volunteers and multiple city staff and first responders for event operations and highlighted promotional recognition in industry media. Handy said the committee plans to run several features again in 2026, including a continued emphasis on volunteer recruitment and sponsor retention.
Council members thanked the foundation for the report and several praised the economic study; a council member who volunteers noted student engagement and the foundation’s outreach to Weber State. The presentation concluded with the foundation offering to answer additional questions and the council moving on to the next agenda item.
