He said the department submitted eight grant applications and won seven; the total request was described as about $700,000 and the award sum characterized in the presentation as "just shy of a half $1,000,000." The director said the department processed 1,763 tickets last year and runs robust backup-and-recovery tests that help the city recover from incidents.
Staff also told council they plan to replace the 2019 cybersecurity program strategy with a slimmer, more actionable policy and that new SOPs will be simplified and maintained annually. The director said about 155 projects are in the queue for next year and that grant‑funded items will be prioritized.
Council asked for updates on previously approved security camera and electronic-lock projects; the presenter said those upgrades are complete and operational.
