Aurora council clears Class D on-site liquor license for Art House Aurora

Aurora — The Aurora City Council voted unanimously Oct. 8 to establish a Class D downtown core on-site consumption liquor classification for Art House Aurora LLC, clearing the way for the restaurant to open near the Paramount Theatre.
Owner Chad Gravinitas told the council the business will be burger-centric with a strong focus on craft cocktails, whiskeys and tequilas, operating roughly 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. Gravinitas said the team hopes for a soft opening a few days before the Paramount’s Oct. 30 holiday show and plans an accessible price point, with most burgers ranging about $14–$16.
"We're not trying to price anybody out," Gravinitas said, adding the venue will emphasize music, art and film and include projectors and a record-store–style entrance. Alderman Seville said the PHS&T committee reviewed the application earlier in the day and recommended approval under the time constraints. Several aldermen welcomed the owner and discussed menu items and family-friendly fare; Alderman Smith requested a veggie burger, which Gravinitas agreed to add.
The council approved the resolution establishing the liquor classification by roll call (11–0). The clerk recorded no abstentions.
The license classification is a local regulatory step; the owner said he will coordinate a ribbon-cutting with the mayor’s office and aims to open in time for the Paramount event.
