Council recognizes Miss Murray, fire captain and paramedic for service

Council gave formal recognition to outgoing Miss Murray (Alisa Sullivan), Captain Steve Elson for completing the National Fire Academy managing fire officer program, and Tyson Green as employee of the month.
The council set aside time to recognize community service and departmental achievements. Outgoing Miss Murray, Alisa Sullivan, reviewed a year of service that included about 92 events (parades, ribbon cuttings, school visits) and public outreach on suicide prevention; she introduced the new Miss Murray royalty and noted scholarship support from the competition.
Mayor and staff recognized Captain Steve Elson for completing the National Fire Academy's Managing Fire Officer program. Joey Middleman and others highlighted Elson's work producing a 110-page fire engineer manual tailored to Murray operations and praised his leadership on apparatus placement, community risk reduction and training.
The council also presented the employee-of-the-month award to Tyson Green (paramedic/firefighter), honoring roughly 17 years of service, contributions to community CPR training and swift-water rescue equipment procurement; the council presented a certificate and a $50 gift card.
Council members and staff emphasized gratitude for these individuals' service and identified continued support for community-facing programs and department training.
