The Muskego City Finance Committee voted Jan. 27 to approve an addendum to the city's inspection services agreement to align the contract's timing with an active request for proposals (RFP).
During discussion, Alderman Decker questioned language that referenced a 90-day extension and said the committee should instead set the contract to end on April 23 so the RFP winner can begin work immediately. "I would actually like to keep it that April 23," Decker said, noting the RFP is already posted and the successful bidder would start the next day. Committee members agreed to adjust the addendum language and approved the motion by voice vote.
Committee members noted the current inspection services contract was scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, 2025, and that the vendor has provided services to the city since about 2012; the RFP was described as already posted on the city website and the League of Municipalities posting. The addendum approval was framed as a scheduling fix to avoid a service gap while the procurement runs to completion.
The committee did not request further study or additional materials at the meeting; the motion carried and staff were directed to proceed with the timing changes described.
The committee then moved to other agenda items and adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
