Summary
The commission reviewed and approved its 2025 annual report summary and discussed submitting future initiatives for 2027 work; staff reminded commissioners that initiative submissions are due to the village manager by January 31 (with dissemination in March) and suggested a February check-in if members wish to add items.

Staff presented the Plan Commission’s 2025 annual report, noting seven meetings convened during the year and a concentrated set of meetings (six) on the housing-opportunities initiative. The report highlights the commission’s recommendations, zoning reviews and other work completed during the year.
Staff explained how initiatives are submitted for the next planning cycle: the village manager receives commission submissions and compiles a list for the Board to prioritize; staff said the standard process favors early submission, but noted flexibility if commissioners want to add proposals before the end of February. Commissioners discussed potential initiatives — such as reviewing the DPW lot, design-review scope, and coordinating joint meetings with other bodies — and asked staff for a short prompt/form to guide initiative submissions.
The commission directed staff to solicit potential initiatives and indicated willingness to schedule a February meeting to finalize any additional items for submission to the village manager.
