Committee approves town clock deposit, backs camera additions and reviews sewer repair quote

At its Jan. 27 meeting the Infrastructure Committee approved several capital items and reviewed pending CIP priorities.
Jeff presented the town clock repair that is included in the capital plan and said the installing company requires a 50% down payment of $7,625 to order materials. The chair moved to recommend approval of the purchase order to release capital funds; the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
On security cameras, staff proposed adding cameras to the existing hardware and software rather than replacing the entire system. The incremental approach would cost about $8,264 for additional exterior and interior hallway cameras while extending the life of current equipment for roughly five more years. Committee members asked about recording and retention; staff said they would confirm whether the cameras are live-streamed and the vendor's storage/retention practices.
On sewer work, Jeff said he received a vendor estimate for cleaning and cured-in-place pipe lining of $69,413 and that the price may fall when processed through CoStars contracting. Staff said the project is within the sewer budget and that contractors could perform additional repairs while mobilized to obtain efficiencies.
The committee also reviewed upcoming CIP items—police vehicle replacement (lease/upfitting authorized in prior year), elevator replacement (quotes needed), portable radios (county requirement; estimated ~$16,000/year amortized), library vestibule design, dump-truck upfitting and phased park work including removal of hazardous trees and one set of bleachers. Staff said it will prepare visual materials and public messaging for the tree/bleacher removals.
