County OKs $27,998 amendment to Outback Strong agreement for overdose prevention

Jessica Dale of Klamath County Public Health asked the board to approve Amendment No. 1 to the county’s agreement with Outback Strong, a community mental health program providing overdose-prevention services since December 2024. The amendment extends the agreement through the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2026) and adds $27,998 in funding from the health promotion subdepartment.
A commissioner moved to approve Amendment No. 1 and authorize the department head to sign; a second was recorded and the board voted to approve the amendment.
Dale noted the work Outback Strong has been doing on overdose prevention and framed the amendment as a continuation of the partnership; no additional local match or policy changes were requested at the meeting.
