Plan Commission recommends approval of two extraterritorial certified survey maps

The Fort Atkinson Plan Commission on Jan. 27 recommended that the City Council approve two extraterritorial certified survey maps: a consolidation at W 6347 Briar Lane and a division at N 1873 US Highway 12.
Director Draeger presented both items. For the Briar Lane map staff said the proposal combines two existing parcels, complies generally with the land division ordinance, and requires minor corrections to the final CSM (signatures, surveyor statement, identification of any easements); staff recommended waiving setback line requirements because no development is proposed.
For the Highway 12 map, staff said the existing parcel is about seven acres and the new lot would be roughly 1.4 acres containing an existing residence that faces Whitewater Avenue; the remainder (about 5.36 acres) would retain access via Lena Lane. Staff noted the parcel is subject to a deferred special assessment tied to prior water and sewer construction along Whitewater Avenue, and that assessment would transfer with the property. Staff recommended approval of the CSM subject to the corrections listed in the staff memo.
Commissioners had no substantive objections; motions to recommend approval were moved, seconded and carried for both items. The recommendations will appear on the City Council agenda for final action.
