The Town of Hubbardston Board of Health reviewed a series of water-test reports tied to permitting and public notices and assigned follow-up inspections.
The board discussed a Pinecrest public notice reporting elevated manganese at a community well and agreed the notice — which advised that water should not be given to infants — should be posted to the town website and tracked. Chair Guy Lamancour noted the notice and advised staff to file it with water reports.
Members also reviewed a new well report for a property on Ragged Hill Road: most parameters passed, but iron was slightly elevated and the board advised inspectors to perform an on-site follow-up to confirm treatment (for example, a water softener) is working as reported. The board asked staff to collect any prior year (2024) reports for trend analysis and to verify whether a treatment system has been bypassed in prior tests.
Separately, the board held a Pizza Palace food-establishment permit because the required monthly water tests were not included with the application. Staff were directed to request the missing monthly results before approving the permit and to confirm whether any potentially hazardous (time/temperature-controlled) foods are sold on site.
The board tasked inspectors to visit the Ragged Hill Road site and to assemble a water-test package for each flagged location; staff will report back at the next meeting.
