County staff presented an updated Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for Fayette County, saying the plan had not been updated in several years and that the new version consolidates agency annexes and is now available online for public review.
The presenter said the plan will be reviewed annually, coordinates mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, and provides a public playbook for emergencies. Philip from the 911 center helped put the plan on the county website.
Commissioners asked for a short, meeting-friendly summary of the plan and where residents can find contact information; staff confirmed the plan is posted on the Fayette County OEM/OES website and provided a nonemergency number for assistance: (304) 574-3590. Staff emphasized that the site is an outlet to find warming centers, assistance contacts, and other resources during incidents, though it does not guarantee services in every individual case.
The updated plan will be presented again to the full commission at the Feb. 11 meeting for broader review.
