A neighbor identifying himself as Rue Wiley (listed as 75 North Main) asked whether a conditional use permit exempts the operator from other city ordinances: "I realized that they do have a conditional use permit, but does that mean that they don't have to follow the rest of the city ordinances?" He and other neighbors said that they had observed long stays and that the operator’s submitted report appeared incomplete.
Commissioners and staff responded that the campground remains subject to city ordinance requirements and noted the permit includes compliance provisions. Staff reported they had requested occupancy and reporting records from the operator (Brenton) and received partial data; staff and the chair agreed to verify the operator's submissions against on-the-ground inspections and to possibly request regular electronic reports. Commissioners kept the conditional use permit review on the agenda for follow-up.
