If the county is awarded next year, staff said county funds could be available in 2029 and that, paired with town funds, engineering could occur in 2026 with construction in 2027 under an accelerated plan.
Commissioners discussed a phased approach and acknowledged gaps in Joint Highways funding that might be filled by coordinated applications and CIB financing. No new formal motion or commitment was recorded; staff said they will apply again in the next funding cycle and continue to coordinate with the town and the road district.
