Meadow council offers parks-and-cemetery job to Jordan Stewart; meter-reader post to be advertised

Speaker 2 said he had "quite the discussion" with Stewart and was initially concerned Stewart’s outside full-time job might make the combined assignment too much, but that Stewart told council members he could manage the duties and was already pursuing landscaping possibilities. "He feels that he can take care of that and get the job done," Speaker 2 said.
Council members agreed to proceed. Because Stewart wants to stop regular meter reading, Speaker 1 said the town will advertise the now-vacant meter-reader and streets position — which includes mowing, plowing and occasional winter work — and aim to close applications a day or two before next month’s meeting. Stewart has agreed to help with meter-reading duties in the interim and to train whoever is hired.
The council also clarified other operational duties. Speaker 3 and Speaker 1 agreed to keep the blue-stakes work with Andrew rather than list it for Jordan; Speaker 3 said Andrew "has been doing the blue stakes" and that the memorandum would be adjusted accordingly. On cemetery operations, Speaker 2 said Andrew has expressed interest in digging graves, has dug one burial arriving from Tooele and is bonded and insured. Speaker 2 noted the town had eight burials last year and said staff will contact families to move headstones when needed.
Speaker 1 also announced the council found another person to add to planning and zoning, naming James Wilcox; members indicated their support to add him despite questions about his out-of-town work schedule. The meeting record shows informal council support for the personnel moves but does not record a roll-call vote for either the Jordan Stewart offer or the James Wilcox appointment.
The council will post the meter-reader/streets job opening (on the town bulletin board and social media) and revisit staffing plans at its next regular meeting.
