Daggett County explores shifting units from Uinta County list, considers RDA-owned Manoa lot for workforce housing

At the May 6 Daggett County Commission and Redevelopment Agency meeting, county staff reported progress on a small affordable workforce housing effort and discussed possible use of RDA-owned lots in the town of Manoa.
An unidentified staff member said they spoke with Uinta County Commissioner Larson, who “has got 34 people on his list down there right now, waiting for homes,” and that Larson will ask whether one or more of those people could be shifted to Daggett County to allow the local project to proceed. The county hopes to place at least three homes locally and said a fourth local applicant would be “exceptional.”
Commissioners and staff discussed site options. Staff noted the lots purchased by UBAC are in the town of Manoa and reminded the group that program rules require four lots in a single subdivision for eligibility. Participants considered whether the RDA-owned lot in Manoa could be used to meet the requirement and discussed building a duplex or similar configuration if needed to satisfy the lot-count rule.
No formal commitment or final funding breakdown was recorded at the meeting. The county indicated it will continue coordination with Uinta County and review available lots to determine how to meet program requirements and proceed with construction.
