The Daggett County Commission and Redevelopment Agency met May 6 in the Daggett County Courthouse and approved the minutes from the April 29 meeting before hearing administrative updates on an ongoing eminent-domain matter and municipal building projects.
During issue updates, an unidentified county official said the appraiser’s affidavit tied to an eminent-domain process has been completed and filed. “We did get that. We did file it, and we have reached out to Judge Beech’s clerk to get a …” the official said, noting the next available court calendar could be in June and that a remote Webex appearance is possible. The commission did not set a court date at the meeting.
Separately, county staff told commissioners the municipal building authority is finalizing contracts for the water-treatment portion of a building project and has taken permit steps before the planning and zoning board. “We should be breaking ground,” an official said while describing the urgency of permit and contracting steps.
The commission also moved the bid deadline for a county clinic. The presiding official said bids that were due at 9:00 a.m. the day of the meeting have been pushed back to 9:00 a.m. next Tuesday to accommodate addenda and contractor requests for additional time.
Formal items on the agenda included a motion to go in and out of the RDA meeting and a motion to approve the April 29, 2025 commission and RDA minutes. Both motions received a second and passed on voice vote with members saying “Aye.” The meeting then recessed at 9:16 a.m. for a municipal building authority session.
What’s next: staff will pursue the court scheduling for the eminent-domain matter, continue work on municipal building contracts and return to the commission after the municipal building authority meeting.
