Huntington council approves business licenses, flower contract and election interlocal agreement

Huntington — The Huntington City Council approved routine items at its Feb. 19 meeting, including two business licenses, a flower-services contract and an interlocal elections agreement with Emery County.
Council accepted business licenses for Wally's Tire (previously issued) and "Ezy Peasy Transport," a home-based pickup-and-delivery operation. Tom Kaye moved to accept both licenses and Lisa Miller seconded; the council voted to approve them.
On beautification, the council reviewed two bids for flower and planter services and voted to accept the bid from a Richfield bidder for approximately $6,672. "This is the one from Richfield that we've used the last three years," a council member said before the motion passed.
The council also approved an annual interlocal agreement with Emery County for administration of the 2025 elections and formally adopted Resolution 1-2025 approving that interlocal agreement. Judd moved to accept the agreement; the resolution vote was carried by roll call.
Why it matters: These routine approvals allow licensed local businesses to operate, secure seasonal beautification services and finalize arrangements so Emery County will administer the city's 2025 elections.
