Kane County unveils 'Kane County Cares' volunteer program to boost service and recruitment

She described short‑term steps including a website revamp, a QR sign‑up at an upcoming Sept. service day and a social media campaign to highlight volunteer stories.
Commissioners praised the presentation, asked Cory to email the program materials to the commission (commission@kane.utah.gov was identified as the best contact) and encouraged coordination with the attorney’s office, which previously oversaw volunteer court‑ordered duties. Cory said she will circulate materials for commissioner feedback and that the county will pursue options for tracking volunteer engagement and cleaning up outdated contact lists.
Next steps: staff will provide draft marketing and budget estimates to the commission; Cory plans a physical sign‑up presence at a Sept. community service event to recruit volunteers and collect contact information via QR code.
