Wallsburg — The Wallsburg Town Council administered the oath of office Jan. 8 to newly elected town council members whose terms begin Jan. 1, 2026.
Per the meeting packet, the oaths were to be administered by the Wallsburg town clerk and recorded with the Wasatch County Clerk’s office. The oath read aloud — in which each selectee repeated the words — included the pledge to "support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Utah" and a pledge to "discharge the duties of my office with fidelity." The packet text also described term lengths: two members were described as elected to four-year terms ending Dec. 31, 2029, and one member elected to a midterm vacancy with a term ending Dec. 31, 2027.
Council members completed the verbal oath and were instructed to sign the documentation for notarization and county filing. The council took photographs after the oath and noted the administrative tasks necessary to finish certification.
