Daggett County Commission reviews grants, Fly Utah stamp logistics and Flaming Gorge visitor-center reopening

At the start of the meeting, the Daggett County Commission reviewed routine correspondence. Speaker 2 highlighted an email from the Western Rural Development Center (WRDS) about available grant offerings and asked whether the commission should share the notice with the county conservation district; Speaker 3 recommended passing it to the conservation district, which meets the next day.
Commissioners also discussed logistics for the Fly Utah passport program: a stamp box has been given to Trevor to locate or mount at a postal-style box near the airport; the county has not yet built a permanent mailbox and staff were advised to follow up with flyutah@utah.gov when arrangements are ready.
Other announcements included a Funding the Future Access Grant webinar scheduled for Aug. 26 focused on housing, infrastructure and public safety; the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) said it will observe the commission on Aug. 26 and requested to attend the elected-officials meeting and tour the county jail; and the Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor Center has signed a new five-year contract and will be open through Oct. 15 this year.
Staff were assigned routine follow-ups: share the WRDS grant email with the conservation district, coordinate Fly Utah stamp logistics, and note the UAC visit on the calendar.
