The Green River City Council on July 8 approved a formal lease and fee schedule for city-owned event equipment — including tables, chairs, canopies and a PA system — that were acquired through a county donation.
Robin, who presented the draft agreement, said the policy lays out inventory, deposit and fee rules to ensure equipment is returned in good condition. Sample fees cited in the draft include $15 per table per day, $2 per folding chair per day, $400 per 20-by-20 canopy per day, $200 per 10-by-20 canopy per day, $50 per propane heater and $200 per day for the PA system. A refundable deposit (about $100) was discussed to cover minor damage, with additional charges assessed for replacement when damage exceeds the deposit.
Council members suggested language edits (for example, replacing the word "tenant"), asked about storage (old firehouse and trailer), and noted staff would track inventory and handle check-in/check-out procedures. The council approved the policy and fee schedule by motion and roll call vote of those present. The policy is intended to allow reasonable public access to equipment while offsetting maintenance and staff handling costs.
