Mayfield council approves several small infrastructure and contract items, waives park fee for service group

Mayfield — At its July 9 meeting the Town Council approved a series of mostly noncontroversial spending and contract items that the mayor and staff said are budgeted or reimbursed.
Streetlights and park power: The council approved a payment to Rocky Mountain Power totaling $5,269.40 to install two street lights for Mayfield Estates Phase 4; staff said the developer has already submitted reimbursement. Separately, the council approved using park impact-fee funds to pay $2,782.47 to extend power to the North Park to enable a sprinkler system; irrigation and culinary water are already stubbed to the park.
Equipment and contracts: Members approved the purchase of a new Kubota tractor to replace an aging municipal unit (purchase was budgeted); the old tractor will be auctioned. The council also approved a sanitation contract option that sets residential collection at $13 per occupied household per month under a five-year contract, a change from $11.25 currently.
Community: The council agreed to waive the $75 park rental fee for a visiting youth service group that cleaned town property and said it would hold the $200 cleaning deposit until the work was verified. The council also approved the invoice register and minutes for the meeting period.
Each of these items was moved, seconded and carried in vote at the meeting; staff said the streetlight cost will be reimbursed by the Mayfield Estates developer.
