The Emery County Travel Bureau on Feb. 11 approved a memorandum of understanding with Green River City to redesign and update two city billboards.
Staff described edits to the MOU that remove an overly broad termination clause and clarified maintenance and renewal language. Under the agreement the city will review and approve billboard artwork before installation; staff said no rental fee will be charged to the county and the arrangement is intended as a mutual favor between the bureau and the city.
Staff estimated the bureau’s share at roughly $3,000–$5,000 based on comparable Green River billboard work and said they will bring a vendor bid to the commission meeting next week. "Green River City would get the right to approve all the artwork," a staff member said.
The board moved, seconded and approved the MOU by roll call. Staff said once the signed MOU and bids are in place, the bureau will finalize artwork and schedule installation.
Why it matters: refreshed billboards are part of the bureau’s broader marketing effort for the Green River gateway and will provide updated branding for travelers approaching the community.
Next steps: staff will obtain bids for signage, finalize artwork in coordination with Green River City and present cost details to the commission.
