Commission approves plat amendment to combine lots in Deer Run subdivision

The Daggett County Commission on Aug. 26 approved a plat amendment allowing property owner Richard Thomason to consolidate multiple lots in the Pines/Deer Run area and to vacate a private section of roadway identified in the packet as Deer Run Lane.
Planning and zoning staff told the commission that Thomason already owns the lots he seeks to combine and that Wayne Simper, the relevant homeowner-association signatory, had signed off on the change. County staff advised the road is private, owned by the HOA, so no public hearing was required; contiguous neighbors were notified and staff reported no objections.
A motion to approve the plat amendment, based on a Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation, was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The clerk attested the document and the date in the transcript was recorded as Aug. 26, 2025.
The commission did not add conditions to the approval during the meeting and indicated routine recording and signature steps would follow.
